HOW DO I FIND MY RING SIZE?
There are several different methods to measure ring size. Below is a list of four ways, of which the first 2 are the most commonly used methods. To avoid mistakes, you may want to try different methods and compare the results.
1. Use a tape measurer an measure the inner circumference of your ring. If the circumference is 56mm, this corresponds to a size 56.
2. Take a caliper and measure the internal diameter in mm of your ring go again with pi. If the inside diameter of your ring is 17mm for example, this corresponds to: 17mm x 3.14159 = a size 53.40. Below you can see examples of what the different diameters equals:
Diameter Size
15,92 mm = 50
16,55 mm = 52
17,19 mm = 54
17,82 mm = 56
18,46 mm = 58
19,10 mm = 60
3. Take a piece of thread and tie it loosely around the finger you want to survey. Then you measure the length of the string, which corresponds to your size. If the string for instance is 56 mm long, this would correspond to a size 56.
4. Go to a jeweler and have your size measured.
MEASURING RING SIZES
When measuring your ring size it is important to pay attention to hot/cold fingers and ring width.
Hot/cold fingers: It is important when measuring ring sizes that you feel that your fingers are not swollen or cold. If you measure your ring size when you have cold fingers, you risk that the ring is too small and vice versa.
Ring Width: The width of the ring ringmeasurer and the width of the ring match. If you use a 3 mm wide ring measurer and the ring is 5 mm wide, the ring size which you would actually need should typically be a half to a whole number larger than if the ring had also been 3mm wide.
